Terms & Conditions of Sale

Unfortunately, like all online retailers we have small print. We have tried to keep it concise and simple but it is important and should be read carefully as by using our website and online shop, you are agreeing to these terms. If you are unsure of anything please feel free to contact us for an explanation.
We reserve the right to change any part of this agreement without notice and your use of the Website will be deemed as acceptance of this agreement. We advise users to regularly check the Terms and Conditions of this agreement.

We have complete discretion to modify or remove any part of this site without warning or liability arising from such action.

Description of Goods

Whilst we make every effort possible to ensure our blankets and throws are portrayed as accurately as possible the majority are made from natural fibres and therefore some small imperfections may occur. Due to disparities in computer screen settings we cannot be held responsible for colour variations. All measurements are approximate.


Our aim is to despatch all orders placed within 48hours of receiving the order, subject to stock availability. UK mainland orders are despatched via Royal Mail or a secure courier service on a standard service and would normally be received within 3-5 working days. Orders received over the weekend and bank holidays are processed the next working day. For next day or deliveries outside of the UK mainland please contact us for details and additional charges. Next day orders must be placed before 10am.
Whilst we will make every effort to deliver within the time stated on our website, we will not be liable for any loss caused to you by late delivery. Please notify us as soon as possible either by telephone or email if you do not receive your goods. We will endeavour to get your goods to you as soon as possible or you may cancel your order and obtain a refund. We will attempt to deliver your order to your delivery address. If products are returned to us as undeliverable, we shall refund the price of the products less the cost of returning the goods. Some orders may require a signature.

If you make a request for items to be left in a safe place, at reception or with a neighbour we cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever if the package is not received. Please be fully aware that all liability rests with you the customer should you make such requests.

Gift Wrapping Service

We offer a fabulous hand gift wrapping service. Your chosen item will be carefully tied with a satin ribbon, wrapped in tissue paper and sealed with our beautiful stickers it will then be gently placed into one of our lovely white gift boxes (perfect for keepsakes afterwards) and finally into a cardboard outer ready for posting. A gift card can also be included with your personal message handwritten by us on your behalf. This service costs just 5.00 per item for baby blankets and 7.50 per item for larger blankets and throws. Please ensure you select this service from the drop down list on each product.

Returns and Refunds

Money Back Guarantee

In addition to the above, we also offer a Money Back Guarantee. If you have purchased an item and for whatever reason you are not happy with it please contact us as soon as possible. Simply return the goods to us. Goods must be undamaged, unused and returned in suitable packaging, to the address shown below. Once the item has been received, your refund will be processed. Returns must be made within 14 working days of receipt.

Damaged Goods

We will take great care to ensure that you receive your goods in perfect condition. However, if your goods are damaged or faulty, please contact us on receipt of your order. We will either replace the goods or arrange a refund at our discretion. If we require you to return the goods to us we will also pay you the cost of the return postage. Please contact us first and we will make the necessary arrangements and provide instructions on how to return the goods to us. You will need to obtain a Proof of Posting Certificate from your Post Office for us to be able to refund your postage costs.

For all goods returned, we recommend that you use a secure delivery method which requires a signature upon delivery such as Royal Mail First Class (Recorded Delivery) as you will be responsible for the goods until they are received by us. We regret we are not liable for returns which do not reach us, or are damaged when we get them back.

Privacy Policy

Solway Blankets are committed to protecting your privacy and we will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).
In order to place an order and or open an account we require you to provide us with information, namely your name, address, telephone number, email address and payment details. This information is necessary for us to process and despatch your order efficiently and let you know of any problems. Your credit/debit card details will not be stored in our system and all the information you give will be treated as private and confidential. You may check the information we have by contacting us direct. Any personal information is given on a voluntary basis and should you wish it to be removed we will use reasonable efforts to delete your records. If you do not want your personal data collected, please do not submit it.
Solway Blankets uses secure software to protect your information and reduce the risk of unauthorised access. The information you input, including payment details, is encrypted and therefore not held in clear text.
In some instances, Solway Blankets may collect non personally identifiable data such as type of internet browser you use, computer operating system, domain name of link if used etc. This information is used internally for marketing and analysis purposes.
Any information you give to us will not be shared with any third parties unless your permission has been given. Although we may sometimes make information from third parties available to you.
Solway Blankets will from time to time forward newsletters and details on seasonal offers and discounts by email or mail. You may at any time op-out of this feature by contacting us directly.
By using the Solway Blankets website you consent to us collecting, processing and using your personal information to administer and process your orders and your account.

Placing an Order

When an order is placed through the website you will be sent a confirmation email.
By placing an order through this website you are confirming that you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract and that you are at least 18 years of age.
A contract between you and Solway Blankets for the sale of our products is formed at the time of dispatch of goods ordered.
The contract shall be deemed to have been concluded in the United Kingdom and shall be governed by the laws of Scotland.

'Cooling Off' Period

As a consumer purchasing online you have the right to a 'cooling off' period and therefore you may cancel a contract within 14 working days beginning on the day after you received the products. To cancel a contract you must inform us in writing, you can use the template below and return the products immediately undamaged, unused and in suitable packaging to the returns address shown and at your own expense and risk. You will be refunded for the products excluding any delivery charges within 14 days from the date the goods are received by us. You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the products whilst they are in your possession. If you fail to comply with this obligation we may have a right of action against you for compensation.

Complaints Handling Policy

All complaints made to us will be considered and a decision made known to you within 14 working days.

Prices, Risk and Title

All prices on the website exclude delivery and are liable to change without prior notification. Any changes will be confirmed at the time of ordering. We have a right to correct any 'obvious' pricing errors and are not liable to sell at that price.
Full ownership of the product will only pass to you when full payment has been received including delivery charges.
All items are subject to availability. If a product is unavailable or out of stock we will inform you as quickly as possible and advise on availability.

Communications and Notices

Any changes to these Terms and Conditions will be posted on the website.

We are required, by law, to provide some information or communications to you in writing. Through using this website you accept that communication with us will be mainly electronic.

Force Majeure

We will not be held responsible for any delayed or failed obligations under a contract that is caused by events outside of our control.

Solway Blankets' total liability for any claim arising out of any order placed by way of the website, whatever the nature of the claim, shall not exceed the price of the product(s) supplied by us to the customer plus any postage charges incurred, but this limitation of liability does not apply to the extent it is illegal, or it is contrary to a provision in any statute, for us to exclude our liability in whole or in part.
